The Aleut Community of St. Paul Island

Tribal Government

Heritage. Resilience. Family. Community. Strength.

The Tribal Government is the representative sovereign government for the Aleut Community of St. Paul Island - one of the thirteen federally recognized Aleut tribes in the region. We strive to honoring our ancestors, serve our tribal membership, and care for our homeland in the Bering Sea.

Our Story

Our home, St. Paul Island, stands as one of the two inhabited Pribilof Islands — 300 miles from mainland Alaska, surrounded by the rich waters of the Bering Sea.

The Aleut Community of St. Paul Island is a federally recognized Tribal Government representing the Unangan people. We honor our ancestors’ resilience while embracing innovation and self-determination.

Our mission is simple and strong:
To ensure the highest quality of life for all tribal members while protecting our cultural identity and natural environment.

From environmental restoration and youth education to marine research and public health, every initiative we lead reflects our commitment to sovereignty, culture, and sustainability.
